- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2010 - Waiting Room Solutions® (WRS) (www.waitingroomsolutions.com), a leading web-based EMR and PMS provider, has launched an ARRA Electronic Health Records (HER) Incentives Blog to provide room for discussion and to offer information regarding the ARRA incentives that are impacting the EHR community. This blog's main objective is to update medical professionals and all others affected by these incentives with the latest news and announcements relating to the incentive programs, such as the final meaningful use rules released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 13 designating how health care providers can demonstrate "meaningful use" of Electronic Health Records (EHR) to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments under the 2009 federal stimulus package.
The ARRA Blog will also allow interested parties to post comments, which will enrich discussion on the topic and create an opportunity to acknowledge thoughtful ARRA related ideas. In all, this blog will serve as a valuable source of current information on incentive policy, and furthermore, will provide a credible channel for the expression of opinions, ideas, and questions among peers (http://www.waitingroomsolutions.com/wrs/arra-stimulus-money-44k-arra-emr-stimulus-bill-arra-ehr-stimulus-incentives).
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which was signed by President Obama in February 2009, plans to stimulate the economy through spending on infrastructure, education and health care. The ARRA includes $20 billion in incentives for medical professionals who provide Medicare and Medicaid services and who use electronic medical records, promoting the development of robust IT systems in the health care sector. Practices that implement EHR systems promptly could be eligible for up to $44,000 per professional, with diminishing rewards for later adapters. There are two incentive programs available, one for Medicare and one for Medicaid, both of which start in 2011. Detailed payment schedules for both programs can be found in the ARRA section of the WRS website.
"I am glad this blog could provide the EHR community with simple and clear ideas about the complicated ARRA and "meaningful use" of EHR systems," said CEO of Waiting Room Solutions, Dr. Larry Gordon. "this is an excellent communication channels for the EHR community to discuss about the HITECH Act will undoubtedly help move the health care industry toward improved quality of care and improved effectiveness individual practices and hospitals," he added.
