- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2014 - Hamilton - Finalist at the Project Management in New Zealand Awards 2014, Waikato District Council has increased its project management maturity fivefold through CAMMS solutions, becoming a leader across New Zealand's public sector.
Waikato serves its community with a vision to create a district that prides itself on economic excellence, local participation and sustainable communities. The Council therefore, sought a solution to address "scope creep", capital works "carry-forwards", sub-optimal planning outputs, budget variations and project delays.
CAMMS Integrated Project Manager has been used to "bring to life" Council's Project Management Framework and it's seamlessly integration with Council's existing Finance, GIS, HR and document management systems has been an added advantage.
Manager of the Performance & Project Management Programme, Jarred Thomas says "Managing and integrating the intangible side of projects is where the true savings lie. Not just cost and time savings, but also reputation, resources, political, environmental. We have built capacity for this within IPM."
Since implementation Council, has achieved time savings of around 8%, which is tipped to increase to at least 15%. Reductions in time and costs in planning and managing the project is however not WDC's main objective. It launched Enterprise Project Management Framework using CAMMS' technology is the purpose is to increase the chances of project success.
"Waikato District Council is a great example and leader across New Zealand through its achievement of increased project management maturity. CAMMS' is proud to be a part of their journey," says Joe Collins, CAMMS Managing Director.
