Huntington Goes to the Dogs at Corky Nightingale's Wag, Woof, Walk Canine Fashion Show During the 5th Annual "Unity in the Community Parade & Fair".
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) August 26, 2014 - Once again, it looks like Huntington is going to the dogs, as Corky Nightingale's Wag, Woof, Walk Canine Fashion Show is featured as part of the Fifth Annual Huntington Awareness Day on Saturday, September 6th, 2014. For the second year in a row, Corky Nightingale's Wag, Woof, Walk Canine Fashion Show, a parade-within-the-parade will unite canines to celebrate their breed diversity. Spectators are invited to line New York Avenue to cheer on canine "Super Models" along with their owners as they strut their outfits down the "New York Avenue Cat Walk" sporting a variety of styles, which represent their heritage and breed history. (Imagine: French poodles wearing berets, German Shepherds wearing lederhosen and Scottish Terriers sporting kilts. Mixed breeds are encouraged to combine outfits).
"We're ecstatic to be including our adored canines and their family members in this year's Huntington Awareness Day activities," said Alyssa Nightingale, President of Nightingale PR. "Long Islanders, especially within the Huntington community unconditionally love their dogs. They are an important part of our families and of our community, and this is a fantastic and fun way to celebrate them as part of the diversity of our town," she continued.
Established in 2010, The Huntington Awareness Day Parade & Fair has become a highly anticipated annual tradition. Thousands of people will join together to embrace a common theme of "unity in the community". Bands, floats, vintage cars, service groups and local merchants will unite as one in the march through Huntington Station.
This year, the community is excited to introduce WBO Light Welterweight Champion, Chris Algieri, Former Huntington Republican Chairman and Suffolk County Public Administrator, Anthony Mastrioanni, and President of the Whitman Village Cooperative Board, Thomas Jerideau who will be serving as the Grand Marshals of the parade.
The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. embarking from New York Ave and 15th Street and ending at the fair in the municipal parking lot between Railroad Street and Church Street. The fair will include performances by local artists, entertaining arts and crafts booths, local vendors and more! The community is also thrilled to welcome special guest, Elroy the Elk and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks' Drug Awareness Trailer. We will conclude our festivities at 5:00 p.m.
