  • (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2013 - Vox Communications, a leading telecommunications cloud computing company, has launched a clever Android app that lets users add a second line to their android smartphones and make cheaper international voice and video calls as well as send unlimited text messages to their friends and business connections.

The Vox Mobile VoIP/SIP app, which is available for free download at Google Play Store, comes bundled with 60 free minutes that users wishing to test the app can use to call phone numbers in 60 countries. Thereafter, users are at liberty to make choices from among a pack of flexible subscription plans offered by the company.
The good news for users who are unable or unwilling to pay for the subscription service is that they can continue using the app to call and text other Vox mobile users.

According to the company's spokesperson, the app is an inexpensive way to make and receive international calls. The company also offers phone numbers from 59 different countries, which is significantly more choice than the larger companies, Vonage or Skype.

"The app comes with unlimited Vox Mobile to Vox Mobile calls while calls to other networks start at an all-time low monthly subscription of $4.95," he said.

"Unlimited inbound calling and a non-U.S. Phone number are only $9.95 a month."
The Vox Mobile app also allows users to send unlimited text messages to other users. Additionally, users who have the app installed in their handsets can download the video plug-in for free video calling.

    How it works

The app provides users with an extra telephone number which they can use to make and receive calls either through a Wi-Fi connection or over a 3G/4G data connection. The app will automatically switch to the one that is readily available. After installing the app and signing for the service, users receive calls to and from their new number the same way they receive calls to their regular numbers.

Users who have already downloaded the app and signed for subscription services attest that the app is way cheaper and efficient.

"I use Wi-Fi calling to make calls to my friends and family and save my paid subscriptions for business calls," one of the users was quoted saying.

The app has received mixed reactions on Google Play leading to a hefty stream of downloads within the few weeks that it has been available for free download on the Google Play Store.

"It was pretty amazing to hit the 200, 000 downloads mark within such a short period," Marcus said.

Users downloading the app have given diverse reasons why they love the app. The majority enjoy the freedom of being able to keep their 'real' number private from strangers. While a good fraction others love the fact that they can make international calls cheaply.
