Von Moltke Teams Up With Craig Conway For Kia 200
Race Marks Von Moltke's Return To ST Class.
- (1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - Dion von Moltke of Coral Gables, Florida will team with Edgewater, Florida's Craig Conway for the second round of the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Kia 200. Conway is a former GRAND-AM Series champion and Rolex 24 At Daytona Class Winner, and brings a lot of experience this weekend as he pairs with one of the series' most popular drivers in von Moltke.
The driving tandem will pilot the #4 Doran Racing Office Depot/ Diamond Suzuki Marine BMW 128i in the ST Class this weekend. This will mark the first time back in the ST Class for von Moltke in over a year, however it's all very familiar territory for the fan favorite as he is a multi-race winner in the class, and drove for Doran Racing in 2010 in their #77 Daytona Prototype as the top Rookie in the DP class.
"I am really excited to be back with Doran Racing at Homestead," said von Moltke. "Last year I saw how amazing the team is, so I walk into this race with a lot of confidence. The BMW 1 series was very fast here in the test days prior to the season, I'm sure getting a quick setup on the car out of the box won't be a problem. Tire wear is always an issue at Homestead because of the track surface as well as the Florida heat, so hopefully we can survive the conditions better than the rest of the field and end up with a good result!"
The weekend kicks off at 11:50am on Friday with the first practice, with the race to drop the green flag on March 5th at 4:15pm. The race will be telecast on March 19th at 2pm EST on SPEED TV.
