Volunteers Across The Nation Wrap 181,535 Toys
Children's Hunger Fund and 3,739 volunteers wrap toys for underserved children.
- (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2012 - Since mid-November, Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) and volunteers across the country have been busy wrapping thousands of plush, cuddly toys. Those toys, generously donated by Ty Inc., will put smiles on the faces of needy children who might otherwise get nothing for Christmas this year.
At a total of eleven events held in various cities across the country including Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Chicago, nearly 4,000 volunteers gathered to spread holiday cheer. Volunteers of all ages put their hands to work, wrapping a total of 181,535 toys, which will be used to deliver hope to children suffering in poverty. On Saturday December 8, a final event in San Antonio will bring the total number of events to twelve.
CHF has hosted its annual toy wrap for twenty years, each year seeing more and more merry volunteers joining in the fun.
"Twenty years ago we had a few volunteers wrapping toys at one table," said Children's Hunger Fund president, Dave Phillips. "Now look! Compassionate individuals all over the U.S. want to make a difference! It's astounding!"
In addition to Ty Inc., other generous sponsors like USANA Health Sciences, Baskin Robbins, Hilton Palacio del Rio, Pepsi-Co, Goya Foods, and Chick-fil-A all helped to make these events possible.
About Children's Hunger Fund: Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) has practiced Gospel-centered mercy ministry for more than twenty years.
