Volunteer Ministers Announce New Solutions for Holiday Blues
With an estimated 1/3rd of all Americans suffering from extreme stress, the added stress of the holidays can kill the holiday spirit. To help make it through the season, the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology are offering free on-line courses to help.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) November 25, 2010 - The Volunteer Ministers of Tampa Bay announced this week that their signature yellow tent has gone virtual and is ready to provide navigation through one of the most stressful times of the year - the Winter Holidays.
"With the holidays swiftly arriving, many of us will find ourselves spending a lot of time with relatives and family friends. Some we get along with perfectly, and others…well, not so much," said Judy Fagerman, who heads up this Volunteer Minister's Chapter.
"It is estimated that one-third of all Americans suffer from extreme stress," continued Fagerman. "Add to this the stress created by enforced familial visits, extra expenditures and exhaustion and a person could feel pretty miserable at what is supposed to be the happiest time of the year."
Fagerman explained that the yellow tents of the Volunteer Ministers have become familiar sights in areas plagued by natural disasters, but in October this year, their website has been expanded and enhanced. The site now offers free on-line courses via their website at www.volunteerministers.org.
Based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard, the courses cover subjects as diverse as improving relationships, overcoming ups and downs in life and the basics of organization.
The courses are very short and include an exam that asks for practical application. Those who complete courses are sent a certificate of completion.
"There is a window on the site where you can pick what it is you would like help with, so it is really personal," said Fagerman. "I hope that a lot of people make use of this service and that they have a very happy holiday season and a fantastic start to 2011."
If you would like to personally speak to a Volunteer Minister, they will be at the annual Winter Wonderland from December 3rd to December 22nd at the corner of Drew and Fort Harrison Ave in Downtown Clearwater - 6 to 9 pm on weeknights and 4 - 9 pm on weekends.
