VMC Games Labs Sponsors Quality Assurance Track at the Inaugural IGDA Summit-Seattle
VMC Game Labs is the presenting sponsor of the Quality Assurance Track at the inaugural International Game Developers Association Summit-Seattle, taking place at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, WA on July 18 and 19.
- (1888PressRelease) July 07, 2011 - The QA Track at the IGDA Summit includes topics such as first pass certification in the PC/console world, quality assurance as a part of the development process and strategies for embedding and outsourcing QA.
As a part of the QA Track, VMC Game Labs will moderate a panel of industry leaders on the topic of obtaining first pass certification in the PC/Console world, presented during the event on Monday, July 18, from 9:00am to 10:00am.
"As we continue to grow into a leadership position within the industry, it is important to keep contributing to the game developer community. By sponsoring the QA Track at the IGDA's first ever summit in Seattle and presenting the panel discussion with industry leaders, we help connect the people in our industry," said Linda Lemieux, VMC Game Labs Director of Development, QA and Integration. "Increasing the probability of a game title being a 'first time pass' in the certification process is a big discussion point in the industry, and I'm looking forward to opening up a conversation with the experts on the panel about how to achieve that in the PC/console world."
During this presentation, experts will discuss how QA managers are consistently improving processes, training testing resources and focusing on reducing the "cost per bug", to get games to the market as quickly and economically as possible. Since digital distribution has sprouted a new generation of small developers who may be self-publishing, many newcomers to the industry may be going through the certification process for the first time. This panel will provide valuable information on improving the probability of a first pass game certification.
The IGDA Summit is a dynamic event for the games industry development community that provides valuable professional development, actionable insight and candid discussion to elevate the craft. For this inaugural IGDA Summit in Seattle, industry leaders from many disciplines have come together to produce a program with content for professionals in the industry seeking to learn and share techniques for creating successful careers, games and businesses in the games industry.
