Vitiligo Bond Inc. Announces First-Ever Youth Empowerment Camp
Vitiligo Bond Inc. is moving beyond its cornerstone program, a private online support group, to host an empowerment camp designed to help youth living with vitiligo cope with the skin disorder, build self-esteem and develop life skills.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) February 27, 2013 - Vitiligo Bond Inc. (VBI) announces its first-ever I Am Precious Youth Empowerment Camp, which provides youth living with vitiligo, a non-contagious skin disorder, an opportunity to build confidence, confront challenges, and embrace their differences.
VBI, founded by Natasha Pierre in November 2010, provides those living with vitiligo, a skin disorder in which white patches of skin appear on different parts of the body, with access to a private, online support group. Designed to foster confidence and empower vitiligans with the knowledge and strength to deal with everyday challenges, VBI's cornerstone program has grown steadily since its early days.
Pierre, a current vitiligan, is thrilled at the opportunity to take the organization to the next level. "This camp offers youth living with vitiligo the chance to spend time with peers, learn more about their skin disorder, develop life-long skills, and build lasting confidence." The program, to be held at The Artmore Hotel in Midtown Atlanta from June 3 - 7, is open to 20 youth ages 7-12.
During the course of the camp, youth will participate in workshops designed to build confidence, promote healthy living habits, and encourage career development. The camp provides participating youth with a chance to learn how to cope with the challenges of living with a skin disorder little understood by the general public.

VBI continually seeks in-kind support for events as well as donations to support its private online support group, drive public awareness, and strengthen community bonds through its public events.
