VITEC unveils Focus FS-T2001 for field-based video-recording professionals
VITEC, an expert in professional video solutions, has developed a new recorder - the Focus FS-T2001.
- (1888PressRelease) April 16, 2013 - This solution is the world's first Dual SxS XDCAM HD422 in-the-field deck recorder dedicated to streamlining the professional user's workflow, when using the Sony XDCAM range.
Based on the needs of the major players in the audio-visual sector, VITEC, a specialist in professional video solutions, has developed Focus FS-T2001, a new media recorder for use in the field.
Focus FS-T2001 is the world's first Dual SxS XDCAM HD422 in-the-field deck recorder for specific use with Sony's XDCAM range of digital recording products. This recorder is the professional field solution for increasing production workflow with solid-state memory media.
Focus FS-T2001 is already being put to use by major broadcasters worldwide, including BBC News for field recording/playback and BBC Sport for backup recording.
Focus FS-T2001 records any serial digital interface (SDI) input video in Sony XDCAM EX/HD/HD422 up to 50Mbps (or megabits per second). The recorder also improves productivity while reducing field-storage costs. Besides, it enables easy access to the media for browsing, editing and sharing. Finally, it allows for complete confidence in the XDCAM recording process (never-miss-a-shot assurance).
The Focus FS-T2001 has a number of key features, such as a Dual PC Express slot for SxS solid-state memory cards or a secure digital high-capacity (SDHC) adapter and a 250GB internal hard disk drive (HDD) for storage. The recorder has an extra-long recording capacity - up to eight hours continuously at 50Mbps on the 250GB HDD - along with infinite recording capacity if one is using removable storage.
Moreover, Focus FS-T2001 users can access recorded content using either a file-transfer protocol (FTP) or a common internet file system (CIFS); they can then easily share content remotely via the ultra-fast 1Gbps (or gigabits per seconds) Ethernet port.
It is also possible to play back stored clips over an SDI or a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) in either native, or downscaled, resolution, thanks to the fact that users can convert content from high definition (HD) to standard definition (SD) for SD transmission needs.
Focus FS-T2001 has an SDI in/out, an HDMI out, and a Composite out. The recorder features an integrated liquid crystal display (LCD), which shows various navigation menus, live monitoring, and video-clip playbacks.
Focus FS-T2001 is available for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of US$5,495 (or €3,995) via the global network of VITEC dealers.
