Visual Communication's Hennepin County Medical Center Project Featured in Sign Builder Magazine
Successful wayfinding system created for Medical Center in Minnesota garners attention from popular magazine.
- St. Cloud, MN (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2012 - Visual Communications, a company specializing in environmental signage and wayfinding design, has been featured in Sign Builder magazine for their recent completion of a project for Minnesota's Hennepin County Medical Center.
Located in downtown Minnesota, the hospital spans six blocks and comprises three historic buildings, all of which made the project especially challenging. To answer the challenge, Visual Communications created a wayfinding system from the ground up.
"We began with a color code system for each building and then went on to renumber all the rooms within the complex, starting from North to South for clarities sake," Richard Lang, creative director of Visual Communications explains. "We even changed floor level numbering."
The project included overhead signage to help patrons transition from one building to another easily as well as various types of wall signage.
The article can be found on page 68 of the June issue and spans multiple pages. It includes quotes from the creative director as well as photographs of the completed project. "We were very excited to see our work featured once again in a publication such as this," Lang commented. "It's nice to know that people are taking notice of the hard work we do."
