Virtual Driver Interactive Commends the State of Georgia for Reinstating Driver Education Funding in High Schools
Governor Nathan Deal Renews Commitment to Reduce the Number of Crash Related Deaths and Injuries Among Georgia Teens.
- (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2015 - El Dorado Hills, CA - Virtual Driver Interactive, Inc. (VDI), the leading provider of simulation-based driver training solutions for commercial and education applications, commends the state of Georgia for reinstating the collection of funds for driver education grants from traffic violators in the state, thereby, improving the safety of the teens within their communities.
VDI is honored to accelerate the partnership with the Joshua Brown Foundation that began in 2008. At that time, VDI was part of the initial efforts to implement 21st century driver education when over 80% of the schools that received funding purchased driving simulators to establish or enhance their teen driver safety program.
"VDI has been an outstanding partner to work with offering a virtual training product that truly engages kids," said Alan Brown, Founder & Executive Director of Joshua Brown Foundation. "After passing Joshua's Law in 2005, I worked with VDI to put simulators in schools throughout the State of Georgia increasing the number of students taking Driver Education by 450% and reducing teen deaths by 60%. These simulators WORK!"
VDI, in anticipation of the state of Georgia releasing these funds, began developing a comprehensive, new teen driver safety program in early 2014. The program, Virtual Driving Essentials, includes not only the most advanced simulation capabilities available today but also offers wireless connectivity for all the virtual training systems - even a parent companion program that allows parents to see the simulation being taught to the students from any web browser!
Virtual DE, is available in a variety of monitor sizes with multiple monitors options, and full cab systems that are easily moved between classrooms or locations. It's an immersive virtual learning experience designed to teach teen drivers the critical skills that are essential to safe driving. It's not just a driving simulator, it is driver training and assessment program including revolutionary new features never seen before such as real-time violation tracking and pre and post assessment drives proving the transfer of learning and mastery of the topics. Additionally, Virtual DE includes high-tech simulation features such as, "X-Ray" to see thru cars and structures to see what would have happened, as well as slow motion. This knowledge and skills based driver training program combines engaging curriculum with the finest available graphics and simulation technology allowing students to learn and practice critical driving skills in a safe, controlled environment.
"This is an exciting time in the state of Georgia," said Bob Davis, CEO & President. "We look forward to partnering with Georgia high schools and educating thousands of teens on the criticality of driver safety."
