- Winchester, VA-WV (1888PressRelease) July 30, 2012 - Robert T. Criner, president of Criner Remodeling, will celebrate the company's 35th year in business this year. Originally the sole member of the company, Criner now works with a team of 11 contracting professionals who offer their services in remodeling to the community. The company recently acquired a new office building with plans to move into it shortly after remodeling concludes in the next few months.
Criner has been personally involved in the local community for many years, serving on the board of directors for charitable organization the American Red Cross of Hampton Roads. He also serves on the board for the Peninsula Remodelers Council, supporting projects such as Remodel Mania that offer construction and home remodeling services to local families and households in need, a project that Criner personally helped to fund by donating to purchase supplies. Criner previously served as president of the PRC for three separate years.
Criner is also the vice chairman of the York County Board of Zoning Appeals and currently serves as a member of the York County Board of Building Codes. He serves as an advisor to the Peninsula Habitat for Humanity and contributes personally by donating cabinets, fixtures and materials from his company. Other contributions to the community include serving on the board for the New Horizons Education Foundation, the National Associations of Home Builders, and National Board of Governors for Certified Graduate Remodelers.
Recent awards for Criner's work with Criner Remodeling include the NAHB National Remodeling Quality Award. The remodeling company holds a Guildmaster Award for Service Excellence for their overall outstanding scores from clients, and has been featured on Houzz, a review and networking site for design professionals and clients. The company was also named one of the top 500 remodelers of 2011 by Qualified Remodeler magazine.
When at home, Criner enjoys spending time with his wife, Aggie, and their four children, Adam, Luke, Paul and Drew. Criner also enjoys educating and sharing experience with his peer contractors, speaking at shows such as the JLC Live Residential Construction Show in Providence, R.I. He currently serves as an instructor at Thomas Nelson Community College, where he teaches coursework for the Virginia Contractor Basic Business section.
