Virginia Author Celebrates National Bathroom Reading Month
June is National Bathroom Reading Month. Celebrate with author Kimberly "Kimba" Dalferes as she releases "Crazy Southern Irish Gal Two-Book Bundle."
- Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News, VA-NC (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2016 - June, as our launching point for relaxation and summertime leisure, seems an appropriate month to celebrate the joys of bathroom reading. Who among us has not reached for our favorite quick read while reclining on the porcelain throne? In honor of this month's celebration of the perfect reading retreat, Virginia humor writer Kimberly "Kimba" Dalferes has released her essay collection, "Crazy Southern Irish Gal Two-Book Bundle."
"Today, I sit proud in recognition of National Bathroom Reading Month Day," said the author. "May this month bring everyone the magic of a little alone time to collect your thoughts and enjoy your favorite magazine, crossword puzzle, or book."
"Crazy Southern Irish Gal Two-Book Bundle" is a compilation of Dalferes' first two books: "I Was In Love With a Short Man Once" and "Magic Fishing Panties." Dalferes dishes on a wide variety of topics-from days of her youth spent blissfully on the shores of Florida's beaches to menopause and empty nests. In both titles Dalferes' crazy Southern Irish gal perspective inspires her illustrations of life's quirky twists and turns. Together, these books offer descriptive and colorful essays on subjects such as getting a tattoo in midlife, unique uses for kitty litter, handling a rabid bat, public speaking gone wrong, and naked hot-tubbing in Vegas. Dalferes skillfully weaves what at first glance may appear to be dissimilar themes into a tapestry that invokes her life's motto: live out loud, laugh often, and 'occasionally' drink tequila.
"Because my books have been described as both beach reads and a bathroom reads," noted Dalferes, "I've challenged readers to send me photos with my books either at the beach or in the john. They have not disappointed: I've posted many of their photos on my website. You will see that my readers are a very creative bunch."
Dalferes also offers her life observations through her popular blog "The Middle-Aged Cheap Seats." Look for her new book bundle via Amazon Kindle.
