Vintage Car Club And Future Park Rangsit To Host 34th Vintage Car Concours
Collection of over 100 Rare Cars, July 16-18.
- (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2010 - Vintage Car Club of Thailand and Future Park Rangsit will jointly host the 34th Vintage Car Concours, entitled "THE GLOSSY HERITAGE AWARDS 2010", in a grand style by converting 4,000 square metres of space into a kingdom of 100 rare vintage cars during July 16-18 at Alive Park Hall on G Floor of Future Park Rangsit.
Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President of Vintage Car Club of Thailand, said "This year will add a new dimension to the Concours as it will be the first time we join hands with Future Park Rangsit Shopping Complex, and so we decide to allow free admission for people of all sexes and ages every day throughout the Concours d'Elegance. The number of visitors is expected to exceed 150,000, mostly the new generation. As the distinctive features of most vintage and classic cars are their body stylings and performances which are timeless, any generation can appreciate studying them. We therefore set the theme concept of this Concours d'Elegance as 'CONSTANT THROUGH CHANGE'."
"On display will be a rare collection of more than 100 vintage cars, classic cars and vintage motorcycles with their combined value exceeding 400 million Baht. Highlights would include a 1938 Bugatti Type 57, a 1937 Sunbeam-Talbot 2.0, a 1904 Darracq Famous Fifteen and a 1939 Morris 8 Series E Tourer."
"Apart from the choice vintage cars, visitors can enjoy a retro market, rare antique collection, seminars on vintage cars, having photographs of vintage cars taken and printed on postage stamps by Thailand Post Co., Ltd., issuance of new driving licenses by the Department of Land Transport, etc.," said Mr. Kwanchai.
Mrs. Ratana Anantanupong, Vice President of Marketing, Rangsit Plaza Ltd. - the operator of Future Park Rangsit Shopping Complex - said that in addition to being a Shopping Complex providing space rental service, Future Park Rangsit also works with the public and private sectors as co-organizer of events. As for this event, it is a great pleasure to cooperate with Vintage Car Club of Thailand in hosting a Concours d'Elegance for the first time at Future Park Rangsit. Her personal view is that the number of vintage cars in Thailand is dwindling. They have become something of a rarity and exist only in the circles of enthusiasts or collectors. A vintage car contest thus provides a good opportunity for the owners to display their possessions and exchange the knowledge. The important thing is that the contest promotes preservation of vintage cars.
Regarding the suitability of the venue, the company has recently undertaken renovation work to modernize and brighten up both the interior space and activity ground outside the Complex to cater for various events. Alive Park zone, which is outside the building and has been developed into an outdoor 1,000 sq. m. air-conditioned Hall, is further expanded by another 2,500 sq. m. for "THE GLOSSY HERITAGE AWARDS 2010", making the event area both inside the building (500 sq. m) and Alive Park Hall a whopping 4,000 sq. m.
Mrs. Ratana continued to say that Future Park Rangsit has an average of 140,000 customers on a weekday and 160,000 on a public holiday. Also, as there are 22 educational institutes in its vicinity as well as fast growing housing estates, she is confident "THE GLOSSY HERITAGE AWARDS 2010" will be vibrant and different from the past, attracting 150,000 visitors of the new generation and family groups.
Visit "THE GLOSSY HERITAGE AWARDS 2010" from July 16 to 18 at Alive Park Hall, G Floor, Future Park Rangsit Shopping Complex.
