  • (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2012 - Following his visit, Dr Cable said, "I'm delighted to have been invited to MACH 2012 and very pleased to have been able to meet so many of the outstanding engineers and companies that are here. Whether exhibiting the latest technology or looking to apply it to dynamic businesses, the people here demonstrate the UK’s extraordinary capacity to create, engineer and manufacture world class products. These technologies feed into the value chains of so many businesses both here and in the UK, and are vital to creating a thriving, balanced UK economy.”

Delcam had received orders for software valued at over £200,000 by the time of Dr. Cable’s visit and was hoping to top £250,000 by the end of the show. Companies placing orders included Future Advanced Manufacturing, AKD Engineering, Hampshire Insulations, DPS Designs, PPA Group, MJB Precision and Formaplex.

The sales were spread over across Delcam’s complete range of CAM programs; PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining, a PowerMILL robot interface, FeatureCAM for feature-based production machining, PartMaker for Swiss-type lathes and ArtCAM for artistic manufacturing applications. The total also included orders PowerSHAPE for data translation, reverse engineering and tooling design, and PowerINSPECT for inspection of parts or tooling against 3D CAD data.

During the show, Delcam also finalised an agreement with Solid Applications, the fastest-growing SolidWorks reseller in the UK to be the exclusive UK reseller for the Delcam for SolidWorks integrated CAM system.

"Our offer to include a free PC with all orders for more than £10,000 of the company’s software placed at the show has been a huge success,” claimed Steve Creron, General Manager of Delcam UK. "We have also benefited from having the biggest stand of any CADCAM company at the exhibition, which has reinforced our strong position in the UK market.”

"We have also received many recommendations from our machine tool and cutting tool partners at the show,” added Mr. Creron. "Our close relationships with these companies mean that customers can gain the maximum benefit from our software on a wide range of equipment.”
