ViennaCC Produced Satire Video of "Rise Like a Phoenix", Song Free Download
The Vienna based musician ViennaCC recorded the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 winning song and produced a satire music video. The song can be downloaded for free.
- (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2014 - Austrian singer Conchita Wurst won the Eurovision Song Contest on May 11, 2014 in Copenhagen (Denmark) with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix".
ViennaCC produced a rock version of this song. ViennaCC: "This version sounds more powerful and less like a James Bond song like the original recording, although I am a fan of James Bond."
The trigger came from a tv show on German tv. A singer, who was looking like Conchita, sang the song "Rise Like a Phoenix" and tried to imitate Conchita Wurst. Juror Dieter Bohlen liked it and said "You did a very good job, the more the song is not easy to sing". ViennaCC: "I thought: Not easy? I can do that too. But I want to do my own version, not simply a copy of Conchita Wurst. Copying means you are always nothing more than a copy of an original. As a fan of rock music it was clear to me to record a rock version of the song."
Then ViennaCC produced a music video in his own studio. ViennaCC: "First I wanted to put a headdress on and let the beard grow. Then I thought, why not make a satire out of it?". "Wurst" is the German word for sausage. And Conchita Wurst became famous for wearing women's clothes and a beard. In the music video ViennaCC paints a beard with ketchup into his face and holds a sausage like a microphone.
The song can be downloaded for free from the musician's soundcloud website.
ViennaCC played in bands with various genres, from hardrock to dance music. ViennaCC's goal is short and melodious songs, with a kick of 60s style, but with modern sounds and sound effects. Musical roots are beat, pop and indierock. ViennaCC's goal to record songs that sound like the Beatles would sound today.

ViennaCC was 2x nominated for a New Music Award in Hollywood, awarded a medal by the International Society of Photographers and reached the semi-final at "Song of the year"- contest in Nashville.
