viaRadio Launches iPhone App Version of HEARO Local Alert Receiver
viaRadio releases an iPhone application version of its HEARO Local Alert Receiver. The application allows emergency managers across Florida to reach citizens by rapidly delivering emergency and severe weather notifications.

The application allows emergency managers across Florida to reach citizens by rapidly delivering emergency and severe weather notifications to large numbers of iPhones through its ENVOY Emergency Warning System.
The HEARO application is available for purchase through the Apple Store online and on iPhones. Currently, the application provides warnings for all counties in Florida. viaRadio plans a nationwide roll out soon after the Florida release.
By utilizing advanced "push technology", once the HEARO App is installed, an iPhone will alert as soon as a warning message is issued - even during a phone call.

Unlike standard weather applications available for mobile devices, the HEARO iPhone app also receives emergency messages from local officials.
