- (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2011 - We were proud to host Chef Mirko Reeh, a famous VIP Chef from Germany for his stay here at Velassaru Maldives (http://www.velassaru.com/).
Chef Reeh who is a celebrity of a popular TV Cooking show in Germany, stayed at the resort for five days and mingled with our chefs and other staff, engaging with them in cooking activities and recreational sports.
Chef Reeh mentioned that he was very delighted with Velassaru (http://www.velassaru.com/) and was impressed by the facilities, services and the modern concept of the resort. He was also fascinated by the Maldivian dishes, culture and cuisine and expressed his desire of coming back to the country and Velassaru to enhance his Maldivian experiences.
During his stay, Chef Reeh made a trip to Malé to visit the local fish market as well as the fruits & vegetables market which he very much enjoyed. The amusing and adventurous chef also had fun cooking at the sand bank and ended up designing a five-course signature menu in Sand Restaurant (http://www.velassaru.com/indulge-sand.html), sharing his cooking experiences and tips with the resort's guests over a cocktails.
Once back in Germany, Chef Reeh intends to share his experiences in a German cookery magazine, "Gourmet Reisen".
Chef Reef is based in Frankfurt, Germany where he owns a restaurant called "Reehstaurant"
