VDC Department Earns BIM Technology Certification
IMC Construction's leadership in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has again been demonstrated with all members of our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)Department achieving Revit 2013 Professional Certifications in Autodesk, one of the leading BIM software platform.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) April 30, 2013 - In an effort to better serve its clients, IMC Construction has implemented BIM to enhance communications, coordination and accuracy. The firm's services and capabilities range from conceptual models for budgeting and estimating; to complete systems modeling showing all architectural, MEP, structural aspects of a facility and as-built facility management models on completion of a project. Achieving these certifications is a measurement of the experience and expertise IMC's professionals have in using the technology.
"We recognized several years ago that using BIM is a true benefit to our clients," said Robert Cottone President and CEO of IMC Construction. "Being able to quickly pull material quantities, price multiple design options and proactively rectify system conflicts before construction with 3-D models significantly advances the project teams understanding of the project. It also assists with coordination among the disciplines which ultimately saves time and money.
"Using this technology has become a standard practice throughout our Preconstruction and Construction Departments. We are definitely appreciate of and applaud the extra effort these staff members have made to enhance their skills and, in turn, our service to our clients," he added. The Autodesk Certification program was developed to objectively validate the skills and knowledge of anyone who uses Autodesk software. Autodesk Certification can enhance the competitive edge and reputation of organizations that adopt its use, while providing an industry-accepted credential that professionals can use to prove their skill level.
