UTair Receives Contribution to Tourism Industry Progress Award
The Moscow Committee for Tourism and Hospitality has awarded UTair Aviation with Guiding Star 2012 Award for its contribution to development of the city's tourism industry.
- (1888PressRelease) December 18, 2012 - This year the award featured 22 categories, including contributions in the spheres of transport, hospitality, tourism and media. The Guiding Star Award was bestowed to UTair for its active role in promoting the Russian capital as an international tourist destination.
In 2012 UTair emerged as an industry leader in growth rates for the passenger traffic on international flights. Taking into account UTair's active development of cooperation with tour operators, a significant portion of overall passenger traffic in 2012 was formed by Russian and foreign tourists.
"The airline's program of fleet expansion with modern aircraft presupposes further expansion of our business on the leisure travel market with a goal to provide services of higher quality," said UTair Deputy General Director for corporate communications Lev Koshlyakov. "We are glad that our efforts have been recognized by industry professionals and the Moscow Committee for Tourism and Hospitality. "
UTair Aviation ranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2011 UTair aircraft transported 6,750,425 passengers. In the period from January-October 2012 UTair Group serviced 31.4% more passengers than for the same period of 2011. In 2012 the airline expects an increased transport volume of up to 10 million passengers. The airline operates more than 200 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and aboard. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs 100 flights daily.
