In the last 12 months, Rice Camera Technologies has been contracted to supply state-of-the-art infrared and hyperspectral technologies to multiple agencies and defense contractors, including The Department of Defense (DoD) and branches of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The total value of these contracts is in excess of $1 million.
The technology that the DoD and military branches are investing in allows for the remote detection of invisible substances, such as toxic chemicals, gases, and solids. Using this technology, US soldiers can prevent or significantly reduce the risk of a chemical or biological attack. Other uses include the detection of illicit laboratories, the characterization of enemy vehicles, and the possibility of advanced US ballistics development.
