Currently Global Emissions is working with the Kehewin First Nations on a project to plant 5000 trees in a concentrated effort to reduce carbon dioxide by planting the first Alberta First Nations "Carbon Sink Afforestation Project". An afforestation project is the planting of a forest where none has been, at least not for a very long time. The Kehewin First Nations have allocated the land for the planting, they will assist in the planting, the management of the forest for the life cycle of the tree's, and leave the trees to maturity for the purpose of Carbon Sequestering, or Carbon Capture.
Uppgroup Inc. assisted Global Emission Offset Corp. with positioning their website to help market the tree packages. A tree package or sponsorship package is really a co-operative effort working with the First Nations people to plant these trees, by either purchasing individual tree packages, or purchasing a sponsorship tree package.
