Upcoming acting class in Hollywood, ca
The release of a new foundations acting class announced in hollywood, ca presented by the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 15, 2010 - The Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio (EMAS) would like to announce the next available opportunity for those rising stars out there: its Acting Foundations class! This class is for the beginning actor; it is part of the Basic Technique series, which aims to give student actors a chance to develop and apply their skills. The Foundations class is a great diagnostic for acting students to see how advanced they are and gives them the opportunity to assess their strengths and weaknesses. The class starts on September 23rd and runs until December 9th - meetings are on Thursdays at 7:00PM.
There are also Professional Programs available for the more advanced actor who has more than one year of training. Scene Study is a class in which students apply their learned skills and test their performance abilities. Since the class size is limited to 14, every student gets to work in each class, ensuring growth and maturity in the craft.
For the truly dedicated actor, there is the option of training in the Meisner Technique. Developed by Sanford Meisner, this technique gives students a step-by-step approach to entering the world of acting. A month-long summer intensive is offered, but to get the full benefits of the technique, the two-year program is recommended. The first year is spent diving into oneself and expanding one's emotional range through improvisational activities so that the actor learns to act instinctively and find himself in every situation. If a student is invited back for the second year, he will spend that year taking the skills learned in the first year and applying them to portray characters that may be quite different from himself. The goal is to be able to fully take on those characters and play the roles in an honest and believable way. The first year of Meisner meets on Wednesdays evenings and Saturday afternoons and the second year class meets Tuesday and Saturday mornings. Both classes begin September 20th and require an audition.
The Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio takes training actors seriously and uses effective techniques to help students develop a useful, impressive skill set - it is no wonder that it is one of the top acting schools in Los Angeles. Visit http://www.emasla.com for more information.
