University is about to become easier for university students with the release of UCROO - the Educational Social Network
UCROO is about to launch its new website for University students that will allow them to connect and share academic and social information easily to aid with the completion of their tertiary courses.
- (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2012 - UCROO, the "Educational Social Network," is set to make its commercial release later this month with a host of features designed to improve University for students.
The website has been built by students out of frustration with the university system. Founded by young entrepreneurs James McCubbin and Chase Williams, UCROO has been in development since July 2011.
As part of a staged release, UCROO will only be opened to three Universities in Victoria - Monash, Deakin and Swinburne Universities, before its wider launch later in the product lifecycle.
According to co-founder James McCubbin, "we see UCROO as the missing piece of the social media puzzle. Students have Facebook for their social life, LinkedIn for their professional life and now UCROO for their university life."
Students will be able to collaborate on their coursework by posting questions and writing answers, read detailed reviews of units by past students to improve subject selection and share their timetables with friends in order to see when their friends are on campus, in class or free to catch up. To make organization easier for students they can also share assignment dates with their classmates and receive alerts when they are approaching deadlines.
