- (1888PressRelease) August 08, 2018 - John Hartford was appearing on talk show radio New York last week when he was quizzed about the state of electronic music in the charts at the moment. He talked about competition winners Kate Garret and Tony Petucci....
"I think there is a huge amount of talented people out there at the moment in the electronic music space. The fact that so many people now have access to the means of making their own music makes it possible for an abundance of peoples ideas to be put out there for the world to enjoy.
What we have tried to do with out outreach competition is give people to opportunity to showcase themselves and if we can see something that could be marketed we will get behind them.
Our last two winners Kate Garret and Tony Petucci are both submitting some great stuff... Kate seems to be going in a very hard direction with her sound while Tony is taking a more soulful approach. We can't wait for you to hear it.
These types of platforms give people the opportunity to get out there and be heard which is fantastic."
John Hartford is Universal Music's DJ sector chief and longstanding contributer to AME magazine.
