United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Stopping a Boat on Plane Video

The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) is now premiering the new "STOPPING A BOAT ON PLANE" streaming media video in its Digital Media Library (DML). End Quote

(1888PressRelease) November 29, 2016 - Raleigh, NC - The United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on stopping a boat on plane in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.

The new "Stopping a Boat on Plane" video shows viewers how to stop their boats from planing or normal operating speed to within five boat lengths, ensuring their wakes do not overtake their sterns, and with consideration of their passengers or crew and gear.

Viewers will also learn how to stop their boats in emergency mode from planing or normal operating speed in less than 2 boat lengths.

Also featured are special tips such as turning to ensure that stern waves pass behind boats, again with consideration of passengers and gear.

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Emergencies on Board as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its "Stopping a Boat on Plane" video through popular social media including Facebook and YouTube. All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.

The USPS Digital Media Library is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund administered by the US Coast Guard.
