United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Docking Video

The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) is now premiering the new "DOCKING" streaming media video in its Digital Media Library (DML). End Quote

(1888PressRelease) December 19, 2016 - Raleigh, NC - The United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on docking in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.

The new "Docking" video shows viewers how to bring their boats to predetermined points by using a stopping procedure - giving consideration to wind, current, and boat traffic - and coming to a full, safe stop within twelve inches of their points of contact on the dock or slip.

Viewers will also learn four techniques to apply to bring their boats dock-side or into the slip depending upon the predominant wind or current in their given circumstances.

Also featured are special tips such as which conditions pose the greatest challenges for docking, what side of the boat is most favorable to put closest to the dock, optimal angles for approaching, and the sequence for dispatching lines under various docking conditions,

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Partner in Command as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its "Docking" video through popular social media including Facebook and YouTube. All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.

The USPS Digital Media Library is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund administered by the US Coast Guard.
