For the very time ever, Atlanta Women in Comedy unite to showcase the best in improv talent. Funny women have had their struggles finding their place in the comedy business, but Atlanta's women are ready to show you their funny!
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2014 - For the first time ever, Atlanta's most respected improv companies will come together for one evening to showcase the incredible roster of Atlanta's female improv talent. Female improvisers from Dad's Garage Theater, Whole World Theater, Village Theater, Laughing Matters, and many more, will join together for a single show at the West-side Cultural Arts Center on September 24th at 8pm.
For most women in comedy it can be an uphill battle. Historically, the world of comedy has been a male-dominated arena. While people often joke about it, some still believe that women just aren't as funny as men. This belief is slowly dying out with the success of so many funny and smart women like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Woman are making strides and proving their worth in comedy business, yet there is still a lot of work to do.
Atlanta has its own army of funny women working to earn their stripes. This event is aimed at destroying the stereotype one joke at a time. This show combines the top female talent from all the major improve companies and puts them on a stage together for the first time. By pushing the best Atlanta has to the forefront we hope to prove, without a doubt, that the Atlanta female improve talent is the best in the world.
