"Ultra Foods is very excited to be opening a brand-new store in Prospect Heights," said Dave Wilkinson, Ultra Foods president. "I would like to thank Mayor Helmer and his staff for making us feel so welcome in the city."
The 87,000-square-foot grocery store-which brings approximately 300 jobs to the area-is the 12th Ultra Foods in Chicagoland. An additional four stores are located in northwest Indiana.
The new Prospect Heights Ultra Foods reflects the grocer's commitment to freshness, quality and savings. At the same time, it introduces a host of new services and specialty items to shoppers in the northwest suburbs. One notable addition is the store's Mezzanine Café, which boasts a hot foods bar complete with entrees, sides and snacks; a salad and soup bar; wing bar; olive bar; and a selection of hot and cold beverages.
"Our newest store provides grocery shoppers with the 'freshest way to save'," said Wilkinson. "Consumers will find the freshest produce, meat, deli, seafood, bakery, and produce available with the lowest overall prices…all under one roof."
Wilkinson believes that with recognized name brands like USDA Choice Certified Angus Beef, Farmland All Natural Pork, Sanderson Farms Grade "A" All Natural Chicken, Chiappetti American Lamb and Veal, plus Perdue, Butterball and Jennie-O Turkey products, Ultra Foods quickly will become a meat destination for local residents.
The Prospect Heights store also has a full-service international deli that carries domestic and European specialties…from meats and cheeses to salads and prepared foods. Additionally, Ultra Foods stocks an assortment of Polish, Eastern European, Russian, German, Italian, Mediterranean, Indian, Kosher, and Hispanic items in its international aisles.
Ultra Foods' seafood department has an extensive array of fresh and frozen seafood-featuring all sizes of cooked and raw shrimp, crab legs, lobster tails, fish filets, and whole and smoked fish-to suit every taste. Breaded and seasoned filets are ready to take home and bake or grill, while on-site cooks can prepare complete seafood dinners or fish selections fresh to order. Plus, a sushi bar offers fresh sushi, prepared daily by expert sushi cooks.
In the bakery department, bread and donuts are made daily while cakes are scratch-made and can be custom decorated for any occasion. For the freshest fruits and vegetables, Ultra Foods buys locally-nationwide and internationally-so all produce is just steps away from the field. The Prospect Heights store offers organic alternatives, as well. Plus, Ultra Foods stands behind all of its produce with a 200% guarantee.
"This Ultra Foods has one of the largest health and natural foods sections in the area, too," Wilkinson pointed out.
