Ultra Electronics - USSI Receives Order for HS-14 in the Pacific Rim
Ultra Electronics - USSI announces today that is has received a large order for HS-14s from a customer located in the Asia Pacific region.
- Fort Wayne, IN (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2012 - The HS-14 will be used on naval vessels to help deter and communicate with potential threats that approach. Vessel personnel will have the ability to rapidly deploy and move the high power Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD) anywhere on the ship or onto a land based situation. The HS-14 weighs less than 40 lbs. (18.14 kg) and has the ability to send crystal clear voice messages over 1500m. An internal MP3 player allows operators to quickly and easily load any audio file that will aid in communicating with possible threats.
"We paid special attention in the design phase of the HS-14 to ensure we properly captured user requirements and engineered the right solution the first time," said Tim Barnes, Product Manager of Audio Products at USSI, "We listened to our customer about the features and benefits they wanted in an AHD. The HS-14 encompasses everything our customer's wanted and more into an industry leading AHD."
A lightweight, compact and man-portable DC battery pack allows the user of the HS-14 8 hours of continuous operations on a normal duty cycle with the ability to move the AHD between operational scenarios. The HS-14 is also equipped with a built-in thermal management system to prevent thermal overload. Common AHDs found in the marketplace will shut down and become inoperable from thermal over-heating thus leaving the end user non-functioning unit until it is sufficiently cooled.
