Collective Underground are a UK Hip-Hop duo from Luton compromising of two MC's: Scientist and Soundwave who are also solo producers working in the underground electronic music/dubstep scene. Even though the word 'collective' isn't usually associated with companies of two, it is meant to symbolise the many roles they occupy within the project as producers, rappers and songwriters.
The duo started making music at the beginning of 2011, and formed Collective Underground a few months later. In a short time they have been creating music they have gone from strength to strength with their productions receiving a lot of positive feedback on-line through social networks and the blogosphere. Now as 2011 draws to a close they drop debut mixtape 'Urban Poetry Volume One' which is hosted by UK Hip-Hop enthusiast, producer and mixtape deejay Tricksta as part of the 'UK Runnings Mixtape Series' which has been supporting homegrown music for the past ten years and has now released over fifty mixtapes.
Collective Underground are now working on instrumentals for their first debut EP which will be released on-line and made available in all major digital music outlets in 2012. Both Scientist and Soundwave have enjoyed underground success with their past solo projects, but now as they combined their talents, skill, experience as well as work ethic to cement Collective Underground's place in the UK Hip Hop scene.
