UK MoD to present updates on its MORPHEUS Programme in Rome
Technical Director of the UK MoD's MORPHEUS project joins speaker lineup for Network Enabled Capability next February in Rome.
- (1888PressRelease) October 20, 2016 - As the UK Ministry of Defence continues to invest in developing technical and business options to deliver the next generation battlefield command and control systems, SMi Group has confirmed that that Tony Reeves, Technical Director of the MORPHEUS Programme, has joined the speaker line-up for its launch conference on Network Enabled Capability Technology.
The event will take place on the 1st and 2nd of February in Rome, with aims to enable participants to help shape, develop and deliver digitization of information, equipment and maximize operational and common logistics platforms throughout the land domain.
Against this backdrop, Mr Reeves will be presenting a keynote address which focuses on adopting non-traditional solutions for tactical information systems. Entitled "Marrying Technology with User Demand for Tactical CIS", the presentation will address
• how traditional ways of delivering tactical capabilities will not meet future user expectations;
• how the industry can contribute to new ways of delivery; and
• the challenges in how defence meets user demand flexibly and rapidly
The conference will also explore updates of the Italian Army's Forza NEC programme. Participants can expect presentations from esteemed Commander of the Italian Army Training and Doctrine Command, Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti, as well as high-level senior representatives including
• General (Ret'd) Vincenzo Camporini, Vice President, Former Italian Chief of Defence General Staff, Istituto Affari Internazionali
• Lieutenant General Paolo Ruggiero, Deputy Commander of the NATO Land Command, Italian Army
• Major General Antonio Bettelli, Commander Italian Army Aviation, Italian Army
• Dr Alessandro Ungaro, Research Fellow, Istituto Affari Internationali
Featured speakers also include high-level military officers from NATO, SHAPE, US EUCOM, Greece, Netherlands and Norway, will deliberate how various network enabled capability programmes can impact operational effectiveness and help optimise the future of tactical warfare. In addition, programme managers will also discuss requirements and updates for key programmes.
