- (1888PressRelease) August 29, 2013 - In October this year the world's LPG industry will gather with science and technology experts in London for the 26th World LPG Forum. This is the first time the event has been held in London and UK-based Flogas will be taking a leading role, as a major sponsor, exhibitor and through formal presentations.
Flogas MD Henry Cubbon explained why having the event in the UK was so important: 'LPG is a thriving industry in the UK and throughout Europe. It's a clean fuel with a lower carbon footprint than many alternatives. Not only that, it's a fuel source where Europe will be self-sufficient into the foreseeable future - the potential is enormous.'
Bringing industry, scientific and technological expertise together will help map out future directions and opportunities for the industry globally, as Cubbon explained:
'We already have a wide variety of domestic and business customers across the UK and Europe. The forum enables us to meet manufacturers with exciting new products that could benefit our customers and helps us focus on longer term developments for the industry.
At the conference Flogas will be talking about opportunities for greater and more varied use of LPG in developed markets. Experts from the company will be contributing to the debate over developments in the LP Gas business, and discuss its exciting growth potential as a cleaner fuel.
The CEO of Flogas Britain, Lee Gannon, will be participating in the UKLPG debate, 'Opportunities for Developed Markets: Sharing Success', at 2pm on Tuesday 1st October, and Donal Murphy, Executive Director of parent company DCC Energy, will be sharing his views at the Roundtable on Wednesday 2nd October: '2030: a World of Difference?'
Uses for LPG identified as growth areas in developed economies include automotive and public transport for major conurbations suffering from smog and pollution from petrol and diesel fumes. But there's also a great deal of interest in developing markets and how success stories there could be applied more widely.
'We're particularly interested in the potential for LPG as a fuel for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants and as a blend with renewables to provide efficient, secure and clean energy to rural and isolated communities,' said Cubbon.
'Having such a global audience with representatives from Europe, South America, East Asia and beyond will give us different perspectives to help shape the vision for our business and for the global industry.'
Flogas is one of 3 UK national distributors of LPG and is expanding internationally having acquired 5 LPG businesses in mainland Europe.
The WLPGas Forum takes place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on October 1 - 3. Flogas will be on stand 2.33. - in the large exhibition centre where the latest technologies and services will be on display.
Henry Cubbon, Managing Director of Flogas Group, will be welcoming delegates to the conference at the Welcome Drinks Reception on Tuesday 1st October.
