- (1888PressRelease) March 22, 2013 - Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC) has begun its support of the Spring 2013 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Refueling Outage Season. Philip G McDermott, Director of Global Nuclear Services at UCC, has announced that UCC will support an extraordinary 27 of the 34 Nuclear Power Plant outages between the months of February and May 2013.
UCC will be drawing over 200 full-time field employees, and will be providing General and Contaminated Diving Teams, Reactor Service Technicians, Project Management and Dry Cask Storage Supervisors and Technicians. UCC's industry expertise for over 40 years will be at work for their specialized services that includes underwater coating inspection / repair and underwater stainless steel welding. The Company is equipped with three regional offices in Tennessee, Michigan, and Connecticut that routinely work together to provide continuous and emerging support to the US Nuclear Fleet and at the same time supporting the largest non-nuclear customer base in the US.
