Ghotit, a company focused on providing innovative solutions for people with dyslexia, has recently been granted a US patent on innovative spell checking algorithms.
(1888PressRelease) May 06, 2013 - The "Method and system for spell checking" patent describes how Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms that take into account both phonetic and grammar inputs can be leveraged to offer a super intelligent spell and grammar checker for its target audience, people with dyslexia.
Several comparison studies performed recently by independent academia researchers have established a clear superiority of Ghotit's novel products over any other existing spelling and grammar technologies.
"Investors are investing their money in companies with so-called "breakthrough" technologies, who file patents but fail to have these patents issued to them. Ghotit has proven itself as truly innovative both by its widespread adoption rate amongst dyslexics and now by receiving official recognition as offering innovative, novel and effective algorithms in this area" says Dr. Robert Iakobashvili, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and founder of Ghotit Ltd.
Many adults and children with dyslexia and dysgraphia are using dictation and/or word-prediction as their main writing technique. Whenever text is generated by speech-to-text or word-prediction, it contains many real-word errors (misused words written correctly but placed out-of-context), grammar errors and punctuation deficiencies. Ghotit technology is particularly strong in detecting and fixing many embarrassing real-word and grammar errors as well as in correcting punctuation including sentence boundaries errors.
"This is another critical step in establishing our position in the literacy market for struggling writers such as children and adults with dyslexia, dysgraphia, other specific learning disabilities and ELL/ESL," said Ofer Chermesh, CEO and founder of Ghotit Ltd. "It is a strong validation of our technology ."
Ghotit implemented its patented technology into Ghotits' spelling, grammar and word prediction algorithms which are available today in both of Ghotit's Macintosh and Windows solutions. Ghotit is currently leveraging these same capabilities to offer innovative services in the area of Word Prediction for the mobile device and tablet market.
Ghotit launched its online free service in 2008. In 2009 Ghotit released Word Writer, its addin for Microsoft Word for Windows. In 2012 Ghotit released its Real Writer & Reader application for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh. The Ghotit Real Writer & Reader application is based on a simple text editor which incorporates Ghotit, spell, and grammar checker and incorporates the ability to read out any text. Real Writer & Reader can be used directly from any text application such as browsers, word processors, spreadsheets, and mail applications.
