U.S. Commerce Department Certified Trade Mission of Private Equity and Real Estate Managers to Visit Middle East
Gracia Group to lead U.S. Certified Trade Mission to the Middle East in December. Mission will connect U.S. GPs with LPs in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, and Oman.
- (1888PressRelease) August 21, 2013 - NEW YORK - A U.S. Commerce Department Certified Trade Mission to the Middle East will take place December 7th -11th, 2013. The mission will be held in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the International Trade Administration and will connect firms from the private equity, venture capital, and real estate industries with family offices and institutional investors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
U.S. Commerce Department Certified Trade Missions, which are focused on relationship building and have the goal of increasing foreign investment into the U.S., generally give up to 12 GPs an opportunity to meet senior representatives and decision-makers from sovereign funds, endowments, pension funds and family offices abroad.
Chad Gracia was the private sector mission leader of the previous trip to Saudi Arabia and is returning in this role. "We were very pleased with Mr. Gracia's mission to the Kingdom in February 2013," said Randy Mitchell, Senior Strategist for Private Equity and Venture Capital at the U.S. Department of Commerce, "and look forward to working with him this December on his follow-up certified trade mission to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE." This mission will be the program's inaugural visit to Kuwait.
"With the assistance of U.S. embassies, we have a unique opportunity to help American firms build partnerships with Middle Eastern LPs," Gracia said. "And as one of the most difficult markets to penetrate, this mission to the Gulf should be particularly valuable." During previous missions, U.S. Ambassadors have introduced the U.S. delegations and U.S. embassies provide logistical support and staff. Unlike traditional conferences, these trade missions provide an intimate setting for a select group of GPs to get to know senior decision-makers and allocators in the Middle East.
The Gracia Group is currently selecting GP delegates to showcase the U.S. private equity and venture capital industries. Of the PEI 300 (ranked by total capital raised), 3 of the top 10, and 15 of the top 100 U.S. private equity firms have attended previous missions globally. In response to investor demand, this mission will include real estate fund managers for the first time. To apply to join, please contact Chad Gracia at cgracia ( @ ) graciagroup dot com.
