Two Solar Power Plants Inaugurated at Mansa
The consistent endeavors marked by New and Renewable Energy Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and his team brought them two more Solar Power projects in Punjab.
- (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2015 - Two Solar Power Plants of 2.1MW and 1MW has been inaugurated by Sr. Bikram Singh Majithia at Mirpur Kalan village of the district Mansa. The project has been installed by Alianz Eco Power Ltd. and Nextgen Solux Power Pvt. Ltd. at the cost of Rs. 15.50 crore and Rs 8 crore, respectively.
Mr. Majithia quoted that with 64MW installed capacity of Solar power, the district is turned out to be a leader for solar energy platform in the Punjab. He also added while saying that a modest beginning of three years ago in the renewable energy sector has now become a movement as the solar power generation had touched 215 MW from 9 MW with an investment of above Rs. 1500 crore.
Around 23 ground-mounted solar projects of 229 MW capacity and 4 solar rooftop projects of 65 MW are under implementation, he further added. Punjab has 62.5 MW capacities in biomass power generation. The entire efforts are made to promote the mission of making 'clean and green' Punjab a success. The project encourages common men to produce their own power house through installing roof top solar panels and a unique Net Metering Policy, 2014.
He quoted as saying, "our government was also emphasizing on biomass energy with dual aim of enhancing the farmers' income from agri-waste on one hand and saving the environment on the other, thereby promoting clean and green energy in the state."
He also extended the gratitude towards the NRIs for opting and making massive investments over Rs. 245 crore in the five solar power projects. Punjab is roaring high with its exceptional conception and execution of Solar power projects across the
state.
