Wolfie's Comedy teams with local radio personality and entrepreneur Bubba Snider to bring comedy to Mullen's Pittsburgh on the North Shore and South Side Grand opening at Upstairs Mullen's North on February 18, 2012.
Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2012 - Upstairs at Mullen's, opening on the second floor of both Mullen's Bar and Grill locations in Pittsburgh is the new place to laugh in the 'burgh. Comedian Matt Wohlfarth, producer Bud Adams and longtime Pittsburgh radio personality and current 100.7 FM Morning Show host, Bubba Snider team up to bring Pittsburgh the best in comedy each of these intimate 125 seat locations.
Wolfie's Comedy will kick off the comedy series at Upstairs Mullen's North with two special homecoming performances from former Pittsburgh comedian Jesse Joyce on February 18. Currently residing in New York City, Joyce has written for many of the famous Comedy Central roasts and opened regularly for the late, great Greg Giraldo. Although Joyce calls New York home now, he hasn't forgotten his Pittsburgh roots and he'll be Upstairs at Mullen's for one night only on February 18 for two hilarious shows, 8 PM and 10 PM.
In addition to the grand opening, Wolfie's will also feature a diverse lineup of comedians rotating between the North Side and South Side locations. Comedians include: Mark Lundholm (Showtime, Comedy Central, ABC and more) bringing his special alcohol- free comedy night to Mullen's North Shore location on March 24 for a night of sobriety based comedy, and Lynne Koplitz (Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best, the Craig Ferguson Show and her own Comedy Central Special, Out of the Pink) performing her unique blend of hilarious comedy for two shows on March 10. Plus, Upstairs at Mullen's North will play host to the "Funniest Mom in Pittsburgh Contest" on April 1.
Upstairs at Mullen's is also the home of Comic Wars, the brainchild of Wohlfarth who says, "Comedy needs a good war." This fast-paced, interactive show involves the audience and puts comedians in uncomfortable situations testing their true comedic skills. Each team of comedians is graded on how well they deal with those challenges and is awarded points for their effort - with the audience acting as judge. This unpredictable show is NEVER the same twice, allowing for frequent repeat audiences.
