Two Mile has a very different character than most wineries. We’re all about small-production, local efforts.
(1888PressRelease) April 23, 2009 - Two Mile Wines (http://www.twomilewines.com), a Berkeley winery providing a unique community wine experience, was chosen by SFGate’s BayList as the Best Winery in the Bay Area (http://baylist.sfgate.com/winners/
best-of-the-baylist/3957/arts-and-entertainment/winery).
Two Mile is known for its sangiovese, viognier, and other wines, but is even more appreciated for its deep relationship to the community, very different from the disconnected tastings of many Napa and Sonoma wineries.
“Two Mile has a very different character than most wineries,” notes co-founder Adam Nelson. “We’re all about small-production, local efforts and how that creates a direct relationship between the wine-lover and the winery, like the connection a farmer’s market creates between food-lover and farmer.”
Started in 2002 by eight guys and their families, the early days were about learning, drinking (of course) and perfecting the wines. Due to unique relationships with some of the best growers in California, the guys go to whichever vineyards are the best for the wines, working with the growers to implement organic, biodynamic and other sustainable practices. Although they are all from very diverse backgrounds, they are each committed to the goal of family, friends and community, providing a truly unique experience for their guests and the end product of a wine that tells a story.
About Two Mile
Two Mile is a brand of remarkable wines, distributed within a small group, but meant to be shared vs. hoarded; of a place; of being able to know the people who cared for the grapes, crafted the wine, and created a story; all outside of the traditional, illegible wine marketing machine.
We're 8 people who represent a community. We're not a legacy, but a point in time. We hope that every one of you open a bottle and share it as your own. Why Two Mile? Stop by and we'll tell you the story. We hope to see you soon.
Come visit us at our converted screw factory at 2816 San Pablo Ave. every Saturday from 2-6PM. Bring friends and conversation. It'll blow your mind.

Fantastic wines, especially from a newer winery in the area. Definitely best of the bay!

Excellent wine in a chic spot
Popped by the winery for a taste last December. Very cool place, a renovated old warehouse with exposed bricks and structure beams, lots of character (the garage door is still there!).
People behind the bar were humorous and friendly, with one of them even giving us a tour of the production plant!
Wines are simply excellent. My two favourites are the Viognier and the Sangiovese. The Viognier is bright wine with a very nice bouquet and slight hints of oak. The Sangiovese here is the real winner. I've never really taken a liking to Italian origin wines, but this bottle most definitely changed my mind. You've got to try it to really understand it.
