Benefit COncert for Whispering Angels Scholarship Foundation for Design and the Arts.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) February 11, 2011 - A tribute to Dame Shirley Bassy was performed by Ms. Jacqui Peters, from England, at The Center for Spiritual Living in Ft Lauderdale on Saturday evening, February 5, 2011 to a full house. The show began at 7:30pm with a brief introduction of the supporters and a special thanks to Ms. Samantha Perez and 55 + Magazine for being sponsors of the event.
The talented voice and performance of Ms. Peters had an opening act with a special appearance by Michael Walters as "Florida's own" Dame Edna. " Florida's Own" Dame Edna had the audience entertained with his jokes, making the audience participate during the act. Dame Edna also performed a duet with Ms. Peters as well. It was a real treat having two Dame Divas on stage!
The incredible performance of Ms. Jacqui Peters in Tribute to England's Greatest Diva, Dame Shirley Bassey was powerful, emotional and an A + Show. The costumes were lovely, but her voice, mannerisms and physical resemblance made the audience feel as if they were listening to Shirley Bassey herself.
In addition to these two performers, Mr. Phil Hinton, who was the musical director for Dame Shirley Bassey, accompanied Ms Peters on two songs and added his own musical magic to the performance.
Audience comments included, "..you could swear that Dame Shirley was singing," and "…amazing songs such as 'This is my Life' and 'Gold Finger'."
