    Centreville (pop. 2,781) is interested in the historic restoration of existing buildings while creating a more vibrant and sustainable community. Centreville is in Bibb County and is the county seat. Centreville was founded in 1823 by John Williams Walker, a former governor of Alabama. Centreville is a community dedicated to honoring its history through preservation projects, cultivating the natural resources of the Cahaba River, and developing an uptown center focused on economic and community vibrancy. It was incorporated in 1870 and is home to the iconic Bibb County Bank and Trust Building, which was recently purchased to be restored.
