Two Attorneys Elevated to Patner at Carroll, Burdick & McDonough
Robert Binion and Siegmar Pohl have been elevated to partner in the San Francisco office.

Binion focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts across the country, as well as domestic and international arbitration. He counsels clients regarding insurance coverage issues arising in the first- and third-party insurance contexts, including coverage for mass torts, first- and third-party property damage and emerging technologies such as nanotechnology. In addition, Binion has experience litigating contractual, ERISA, ADA and class action claims.
A frequent author on insurance issues, Binion is a member of the State Bar of California and the Defense Research Institute. He earned his J.D. from University of California at Berkeley School of Law (2003) and his B.A., summa cum laude, from San Francisco State University (1996).
Pohl advises on corporate, commercial, intellectual property and licensing transactions in the IT, renewable energy, technology and entertainment industries. Due to his dual qualifications, his client base consists of national and international companies and a large portion of his work involves cross-border transactions.
Pohl is fluent in German and has written extensively on cross-border project finance, technology and intellectual property law issues. He is a member of the California and German bars, the German American Business Association and the American-German Copyright Summit. Pohl received his Ph.D. in Law, magna cum laude, from the University of Bonn, Germany (2001), his LL.M. from the University of Iowa, College of Law (1996) on a Fulbright grant, and his J.D., Erstes Staatsexamen, from the University of Trier, Germany (1994).
