- (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2022 - TWF Structures is delighted to announce they have sealed the contract to supply a range of structural steel services to Eric Wright Construction as part of the Trafford Cricket Ground redevelopment project. The recently announced construction phase for the new stand, which replaces the Red Rose Suite, Hilton Garden Hotel and Red Rose Suit at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground is part of a larger construction project including expanding the existing Hilton Garden Inn Hotel room capacity.
The contract for the steelworks was awarded to TWF Structures by the main contractor, Eric Wright Construction, who has been delivering exceptional schemes across the North West for over 40 years. It is anticipated that the steelworks element of the project will be circa 400T with a delivery schedule of 3 months.
TWF Structures delivers a range of specialist steel-based manufacturing and installation services including design and build services, steel framed structures, secondary steelwork, lattice trusses, steel platforms, gantries, steel erection, metal decking, concrete stairs, floor planks staircases, balconies, and balustrades.
The redevelopment project will include a new thousand-plus capacity stand which will include enhanced pitch-viewing facilities for Lancashire Cricket Club members, comprising a dual-aspect suite located within the spectator viewing terrace. Included in the project is also a heritage centre, a guest services hub, and a new retail store.
In addition to the new stand, the construction project includes a new extension and significant expansion of the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, including the provision of a further 100 bedrooms, which would take the total hotel capacity to 250. This expansion will allow the club to build on its success by providing new opportunities to host a greater number of large-scale events.
