"Celebrities Rock for a Cure!" is a fundraiser being produced by TVOne and hosted by actress LisaRaye to air on her hit reality show "LisaRaye: the Real McCoy." The event will benefit the 501 c3, Jem's Life Foundation, in support of a rare form of cancer, ASPS.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 29, 2010 - LisaRaye and TVOne Network have joined forces to host "Celebrities Rock for a Cure!", a red carpet celebrity fundraiser to raise awareness and money for a rare form of cancer called Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS). The event will be held on Thursday, December 2 at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA.
The benefit will be hosted by LisaRaye and featured on her hit reality show "LisaRaye: The Real McCoy." The show will premiere in its second season in the spring of 2011 and is currently the highest rated show on the TV One Network, capturing well over 1 million viewers in its first season debut.
ASPS is a cause close to LisaRaye's heart because her long time friend and makeup artist, 28-year-old Jemisha McFerrin, suffers from this little known and life threatening disease. Jemisha is the founder of Jem's Life Foundation, the event's benefiting non-profit 501 c(3), which she established to help save the lives of those suffering from ASPS, beginning with her own.
The benefit will be comprised of a night of philanthropy and lifestyle with celebrity performers and a live luxury auction sponsored by Lavish Lifestyles Concierge. Celebrities are taking the stage to support this extraordinary cause by performing alter-egos talents to help raise money for Jem's Life Foundation. Among the celebrities performing on the night of December 2, are Tatyana Ali ("Fresh Prince of Bel Air," TVOne's "Love That Girl!"), actress Elise Neal ("Hustle & Flow," "All of Us"), actor Keith Robinson ("Dreamgirls"), along with other surprise celebrity performers!
