- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 13, 2010 - Fans of the TV Food Network and gastronomes everywhere are invited to join Chef Zov, Iron Chef Michael Symon and Chef Anne Burrell for a 2-day fundraiser benefiting the prestigious James Beard Foundation. The fundraiser kicks off the weekend of January 29 & 30 at Zov's Bistro in Tustin. The VIP 5-course dinner that includes special wine pairings will be held Saturday, January 29. The cost of the intimate dinner is $500 per person. On Sunday, January 30, Chef Symon and Chef Burrell will participate in a culinary concert along with Chef Zov and each will be demonstrating their favorite family recipes for guests. Tickets for the culinary concert are $250 per person followed by a lavish lunch. All proceeds from both events will benefit the James Beard Foundation's Scholarship Program, whose mission is to celebrate, nurture, and preserve America's diverse culinary heritage and future.
A Cleveland native, Symons took home top honors on "The Next Iron Chef," and eventually secured his place as a permanent Iron Chef on "Iron Chef America." He has since taken over as the new host of two hit series "Dinner: Impossible" and "Cook like an Iron Chef."
Burrell is the host of "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef." In January 2010, her newest show, "Worst Cooks in America," debuted on Food Network as the highest rated new show in Food Network history, attracting 4 million viewers for the first episode. She is currently preparing for the second season of the hit show.
"I'm delighted, once again, to host two of television's most beloved chefs who will share their passion with those who love food here in Orange County," said Chef Zov, a James Beard Angel Award recipient, restaurateur, cookbook author and owner of 3-heralded OC restaurants that bear her name. "This 2-day event gives fans of Food Network to rub shoulders with Iron Chef Michael and Chef Anne and to get an inside glimpse into their appreciation of fine food and different approaches to cooking."
The VIP dinner on Saturday will begin at 6 p.m. in the private dining room at Zov's Bistro. The culinary concert will commence on Sunday at 12 noon. Barbara Fairchild, editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit Magazine, will serve as emcee of the culinary concert. Zov noted that past events with Food Network stars and other luminaries have become popular "foodie" gifts for any occasion including holidays, birthdays, corporate presents, anniversaries or for anyone who would enjoy the experience.
Space is limited for both events and reservations can be made by calling (714) 838-8855 ext. 22. Zov's Bistro is located at 17740 E. 17th Street, Tustin, CA 92780.
