Truancy Call, now trading as Contact Group, has extended its portfolio of award-winning automatic notification systems.

Originally developed for Barnsley Council, Contact Group's e-Mentoring solution enables schools to provide secure and convenient e-mentoring by text message and online. Designed to complement traditional face-to-face mentoring programmes and further develop a student's computer skills, this new online solution provides students with 24/7 access to mentors.
Commissioned by Middlesbrough Council and now available to all, Looked After Call is a secure, online solution designed to significantly reduce the administrative burden on children's services teams by collating, monitoring and analysing the attendance records of 'looked after children'.
Helping local authorities meet their legal obligation to monitor every child in their care across multiple boroughs, Looked After Call provides in-depth, online reports on each child's attendance in a daily, weekly or monthly format. Highly flexible, it can be operated centrally by the Local Authority, or opened to involve schools in the borough.
Also new to Contact Group's growing portfolio of automatic notification systems for schools and local authorities is Term Time Tracker designed to help monitor, track and alert the local authority about any child that has been given special dispensation to have an extended holiday absence for religious or personal reasons.
The law states that parents do not have the right to take their child out of school for holidays during term-time and that only in exceptional circumstances can schools allow parents to take their child out of class for up to ten days in a school year. Recognising that it is expensive to take a holiday during school breaks and acknowledging religious or personal reasons, schools are often obliged to make these exceptions.
With return dates clearly logged, Term Time Tracker alerts local authorities and schools if a student fails to appear on their agreed return date, enabling them to establish the cause quickly and to confirm that the child is safe.
