- Jacksonville, FL (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2016 - Portofino University, a subsidiary of Portofino Pool Services & Outdoor Living, Jacksonville, Fla., has been retained as a consultant to conduct advanced pool operation and maintenance training in Trinidad and Tobago. "All island commercial and residential aquatic facility managers, operators, technicians, contractors and owners are welcome to attend," announced Jack Manilla, President and Founder of Portofino University.
The brand new $40 million National Aquatic Center in Couva, Trinidad is nearing construction completion and there is a good possibility the November 2016 classes will be held there. The new Aquatic Centre will be the only one of its kind throughout the Caribbean. It features a 50-meter competition pool, a 50-meter outdoor warm-up pool, and a 25-meter diving facility. The addition of
the new facility will allow Trinidad & Tobago to attract a variety of international aquatic events and develop new national water sports teams, as the facility is designed to meet the International Federation for Aquatic Sports (FINA) requirements.
This is not the first time Manilla has been called upon to provide services to the island nation. In 2013, Portofino was retained by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Sports to establish swimming pool health and safety standards and to train and certify pool operators. Previously, he conducted a live classroom 16-hour course followed by on-site, hands-on training for all participants at multiple pools located throughout the island. All 18 participants passed and were officially recognized as Certified Pool Operators, CPO®.
"It keeps getting better. We are thrilled to possibly be of one the first to conduct training courses at the new National Aquatic Center in Couva, Trinidad," said Manilla. "I am looking forward to returning to the country to once again provide my services to help make Trinidad & Tobago pool operators the very best in the Caribbean. This year we will be presenting the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP®) 24-hour Certified Maintenance Specialist Course."
Manilla will be assisted by Anthony M. Butler, Sr., National Director & Founder of E3 Business Group, Inc. who will present two additional business seminars: "So You Think You're an Entrepreneur?™" and "Customer Service - The E3 Way."
