Trig(R) Innovation Completes Unique 3D Animation Video Project for Analytical Instrumentation Leader
Work Being Used by Mustard Tree InstrumentsŪ in Nationwide Educational Outreach Campaign
- Durham, NC (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2012 - TrigŪ Innovation, a Research Triangle, NC-based innovation management firm, recently completed a unique 3D animation video project for its client Mustard Tree InstrumentsŪ, an analytical instrumentation company developing innovative solutions to evolving pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing challenges.
Utilizing its in-house resources of Bunkspeed MOVE '12 animation suite in concert with SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling software, TrigŪ Innovation was able to produce an animated demonstration of the company's breakthrough VTT-1000 at-line material verification testing tool.
"This was our first time accepting an animation challenge, and we have been deeply appreciative of the opportunity to continue to expand our capabilities," said Ty Hagler, Principal at TrigŪ Innovation, adding, "We can now generate marketing assets for greater commercial viability, without sacrificing details in design along the way."
The resulting animation is being used by Mustard Tree InstrumentsŪ as part of a major nationwide educational outreach program to showcase the company's at-line and in-line materials verification testing products. The animation is shown on Mustard Tree's YouTube channel, YouTube.com/MustardTreeTV, as well as at tradeshows and prospect presentations.
Industrial Designer Patrick Murphy, who joined the TrigŪ Innovation design team in the spring of 2011, took the lead on the animation project, a virtual demonstration of the VTT-1000. The product uses Raman spectroscopy, a non-contact, optical laser technology used for the rapid verification of raw materials and finished products.
Spearheading the delivery of client animation needs, Murphy was tasked with generating an elegant animated movie using Bunkspeed and SolidWorks, migrating designs seamlessly between the two software environments. He was able to create an animation piece capturing the internal mechanism of the VTT-1000 in a way that is easy for viewers to understand the technology at work, as well as the product's value toward helping manufacturers solve specific quality and business problems such as reducing manufacturing lead time, increasing yield, decreasing sample analysis cost and avoiding costly recalls which result in dangerous drug shortages.
According to the FDA, the number of drugs classified as being "in shortage" tripled from 61 in 2005 to 178 in 2010, with more than half of current drug shortages due to manufacturing quality problems.
"We have great admiration for the character and commitment to excellence represented by the folks at Mustard Tree and the important work they are doing with tools like the VTT-1000, which can have an impact on a great number of people," Hagler said.
