Trident University International Welcomes Dr. Thomas A. Bloom To Its Board of Trustees
Dr. Bloom, an education industry veteran of more than 35 years, brings his unique talents, strengths, and vision to the Trident Board of Trustees. An advocate of education for those with Asperger syndrome, he is the COO of Gateway Academy in Scottsdale, AZ.

Bloom to its Board of Directors. He becomes the 13th member of a Board that recently saw the addition of seasoned academic professional Dr. Linda Thor.
Dr. Bloom, who received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota, has over 35 years of experience in education and brings with him a keen mind that is focused on offering students a quality university experience that helps them to master the skills needed to excel in today's quickly-evolving job market.

Dr. Bloom has left his mark at fine public institutions across the entire country. He has served on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin and Florida State University. He was a department chair at the University of Minnesota, and Southwest State University, and served as the Dean of the Hotel and Restaurant School at California Polytechnic University. In addition, he served as an adjunct professor at Purdue University, Michigan State University, and the University of Hawaii, presenting management seminars throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
In addition to his faculty and seminar experience, Dr. Bloom has both authored and co-authored numerous publications and edited several college textbooks for well-known publishing houses. He's been highly engaged in the world of public broadcasting, devising and writing 26 television shows for KQED, the San Francisco, CA PBS affiliate, and co-producing the award-winning documentary "Two Worlds - One Planet."
He has worked in the private post-secondary sector as well, serving as Vice President of the Culinary Institute of America, President and CEO of the California Culinary Academy, Vice President of US Education Corporation, and President of Apollo Colleges.
Dr. Bloom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management and his Master of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stout.
Currently, Dr. Bloom is the Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Gateway Academy and Spectrum College Transition Program in Scottsdale, AZ. Gateway Academy is the only K-12th Grade Private Day School in the United States, specializing solely on students with Asperger syndrome. Spectrum College Transition Program is the only residential, post-secondary program for young men with Asperger syndrome in the United States. Working with children, adolescents, and young adults with Asperger syndrome is Dr. Bloom's personal, as well as his professional mission.
